High pitch whine on start up

I've had an s3 8v for last 2 years and I've noticed it's just on cold start I get a high pitch whine which is rather annoying. I've read it could be my secondary air pump ? Any ideas ? Not belt related. Thank you

mine does the same. not sure what it is either but i chalk it up to if it isn't broken, modify something else till it breaks.
