The Audi RS3 will make it to the U.S., according to a new report from Automotive News. Audi of America CEO Scott Keogh revealed the plans to AN at last week's New York auto show.
Although the Audi RS3 is sold only as a hatchback in its native Europe, Keogh reportedly said that the high-performance variant will come to the U.S. as a sedan. After all, most versions of the A3, and the existing racy 292-hp Audi S3, are sold here in sedan form; in the U.S., only the A3 e-tron plug-in hybrid and TDI will be sold as hatchbacks. Europe's Audi RS3 Sportback (pictured) packs a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5 engine good for 362 hp and 343 lb-ft of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic routes power to Quattro all-wheel drive, enabling a 0-to-62-mph sprint of just 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 174 mph.
